BORDERLANDS 2 CAPTAIN SCARLETT LIGHTHOUSE TREASURE SERIESSince the Borderlands series has been known to reference many pop culture works of entertainment, this isn’t really that shocking in speculation, but it’s very cool to me since I’m such a huge fan of Treasure Planet and Borderlands 2 equally.Unauthorized copying, reverse engineering, transmission, public performance, rental, pay for play, or circumvention of copy protection is strictly prohibited © 2014 Gearbox Software, LLC. I’m definitely looking to have a discussion and see if people think the same way I do about all of the similarities. BORDERLANDS 2 CAPTAIN SCARLETT LIGHTHOUSE TREASURE FREESo it’s not a complete replication, but still, pretty darn close.įeel free to fact check me on any of the info I just threw out there. And Captain Scarlett has her robotic eye and leg on her right side, but her robotic arm on her left. In conclusion, it should be noted that Long John Silver has all of his robotic appendages on his right side, completely. Also, Long John Silver eventually betrays the protagonist towards the end of the film. Captain Amelia has a British accent, much like Captain Scarlett, and also holds the rank of Captain on the Ship, and Long John Silver has a Robotic Eye, Leg, and Arm. ![]() ![]() And two being, “Long John Silver” the Ship’s cook. One, being “Captain Amelia”, who is the Captain of the Ship that the protagonist boards in the movie. At the end of their careers, they hid an unrivaled treasure of plundered coins, gems, artifacts, etc. Allow me to elaborate:įirst Point: I’m stating the obvious here, but it should still be stated nonetheless, both works of entertainment center around Pirates and the pursuit of a fabled treasure in what is considered to be the future given the advanced technology both universes possess.Ģnd: Both feature a legendary pirate captain known as “Captain Flint” who was unmatched among swashbucklers in his day. Now that that’s out of the way, the Captain Scarlett DLC and Treasure Planet are certainly EXTREMELY similar. So in no way am I saying that because it takes inspiration from Disney’s “Treasure Planet” movie, that it’s unoriginal and/or a rip-off of entertainment. Here’s the link for that source btw: įor starters, “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty” is an enjoyable DLC (to me). ![]() But I wanted to kind of throw this out there, and create awareness to this because I thought it was really cool, AND because I found only one source somewhat hinting at this. This is my first post, and to be completely honest, I pretty much only made a Reddit account to make this post lol. ![]()
